SHORT HILLS, NJ. – U.S. Senate candidate Shirley Maia-Cusick issued the following statement today urging Senators to vote in favor of H.R.2 – Secure the Border Act of 2023:
“The passage of H.R.2 is a vital stepping stone in restoring law and order at our Southern Border. Since the Biden Administration has taken office, over 7 million migrants have illegally crossed our border. This is simply unacceptable and is likely to only worsen significantly with the recent refusal to renew Title 42. In 2022 alone, enough Fentanyl has been seized by the DEA to kill every man, woman and child in the United States. This is an issue that affects every American, in every state, not just the border states. I urge my opponent, Bob Menendez, and his colleagues in the Senate to pass H.R.2 to re-establish law and order at the border and to keep our fellow Americans safe. Failure to do so would be a damnable disservice to all Americans,” said Maia-Cusick.
Shirley Maia-Cusick is an immigrant and successful business owner of an immigration consulting firm in Short Hills, New Jersey. She recently filed her candidacy to run for the United States Senate. She is the leading Republican candidate set to replace the most corrupt politician in New Jersey’s history, Bob Menendez.
